It’s the weekend. So a regular breakfast simply will not do. Paleo waffles with almond flour to the rescue! There’s a lot to love about these waffles, but what I love the most? That this paleo waffle recipe tastes and looks just like any other waffle recipe. Meaning picky family members (ahem, children) start their day off with almond flour waffles packed with healthy ingredients… and they eat them happily!

Delicious and healthy waffles? Everyone is happy! I know your family will love these paleo crispy waffles as much as mine.

What Are Paleo Waffles?

Paleo waffles with almond flour are just like regular waffles, except they use almond flour and a dash of tapioca instead of white flour. They are grain free, dairy free, gluten free and made entirely of paleo ingredients!

You won’t find any flour or sugar in these waffles, but don’t worry, they still taste just like the waffles you know and love. I think it would even be hard to tell the difference between my gluten free waffles with almond flour and regular old white flour waffles!

How To Make Paleo Waffles

So this recipe for almond flour waffles comes together in just 10 minutes! Let me show you how to make them:

  • Prep your waffle iron. Preheat your iron and lightly grease with coconut oil.
  • Mix together dry ingredients. In a large bowl, combine almond flour, tapioca flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add wet ingredients. Add the almond milk, eggs, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Mix together until smooth.

  • Cook almond flour waffles. Scoop batter into the lightly greased waffle iron. Close and cook until steam is coming out and waffles are crispy and cooked through. Repeat with remaining batter.

  • Serve! For the best almond flour waffles, I’d say a pat of coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and some syrup or honey are just perfect.

Can Waffles Be Made With Almond Flour?

Yes, waffles can definitely be made with almond flour. Making paleo waffles with almond flour is a great way to add in more nutrition to a delicious morning meal.

This paleo waffle recipe is made with a combination of almond flour and tapioca flour. The tapioca makes them more sturdy and airy.

Are Paleo Waffles Good For You?

Yes, these paleo waffles are very good for you! Not only are these paleo waffles with almond flour made with real, whole food ingredients, but they also have great nutrition stats. Each waffle packs 4 grams of protein and has only 4 grams of sugar.

How Many Carbs In Almond Flour Waffles?

Because these almond flour waffles contain maple syrup and a bit of tapioca, the carb count is moderate. They have 9g net carbs per waffle, or 18g for a serving of two.

If you want low carb almond flour waffles, try replacing the maple syrup with some sugar-free sweetener, plus a bit more almond milk to thin out the batter.

Yes, I love to make my own paleo frozen waffles by making a big batch of this paleo waffle recipe. Simply let the gluten free dairy free waffles cool completely and then store in freezer bags.

Take them out on busy mornings for a breakfast meal that feels like the weekend. You can re-heat in the microwave, the oven, or the toaster when you’re ready to eat them.
