Discuss and Strategize

See what courses FRCC offers, search for classes, and connect with Guaranteed Transfer courses.

Discuss theCollege Before Graduation Programwith your parent/guardian. Meet with your counselor to determine if the courseyou want to take will work with your high school schedule.Check the course catalog to know if the course you are interested in has any prerequisites. You cannot take a course unless you have met those prerequisites. It is also advised that you meet with a college advisor to align your courses with your career plans. If you are not sure which courses to take, reach out to FRCC for more direction on career pathways.

GT Pathways courses, in which the student earns a C- or higher, willtransfer and apply to GT Pathways requirements in AA, AS and most bachelor's degrees at anypublic Colorado college and university.

Know What Level of Course is Right for YouMath, Composition and World Language courses above beginning level may require an assessment for proper placement. This site hasself assessment guides for Math and Composition. For World Languages go to this link and choose the Foreign Language Placement exam when scheduling an appointment.

CBG AgreementIt is important that both the parent and student read and understand this form before submitting. Each year there are two forms available depending on the program you are in. The Agreement addresses student privacy, authorization of COF (College Opportunity Fund), transcription of grades and other important topics. If there is anything you do not understand, please reach out to your counselor, Grad+ Site Lead or careerandcollege@bvsd.org. The Agreement needs to be submitted every semester in order for the student and class to be approved for BVSD tuition support.

AccommodationsColleges and universities do not recognized 504 and IEPs. If you need any accommodations, contact Disability Support Servicesbefore classes start. Check out their web page for lots of helpful information.

The Application and S NumberThe FRCC application is free and does not require an essay. All who apply are admitted.FRCC will assign you a 'Student ID 'S' Number (S00000000).You will use this number to sign up for classes so write it down or keep a copy. It may take a few days to get so check your email.Make sure you authorize COF (Colorado Opportunity Fund) when enrolling.

If there is ever a hold on your account, please email FRCC to find out how to get it removed.

Tuition and FeesTuition for FRCC classes are covered by the State of Colorado (through COF) and BVSD. A part of the FRCC application includes applying to and authorizingCOF to make payment to FRCC on your behalf. If you do not do this, your family will be responsible for that portion of the tuition (currently $116/credit hour). Sometimes students authorize COF but it doesn't get applied due to other errors in the application (incorrect DOB, transposed SSN, etc.) Check to confirm COF is applied through your eWolf account by clicking on the COF icon. BVSD's portion of your tuition bill may not be applied until later in the semester. If you are receiving bills after the second month of class, please contact BCC.CE@frontrange.edu.

District Approval

When you are approved, you will receive an email from BVSD Career and College Connections letting you know that you have been approved and what are the required next steps. Please check your SPAM folder and email us if you are close to the deadline to apply and have not received an email. Students taking class in the high school will not receive an email.

Register for Classes

After you have received your FRCC 'S' number orstudent ID and you have been approved by BVSD,you are ready to register for classes. Goonline to your student eWOLF account (FRCC website link at the top left corner).Pay attention to registration deadlines!

  • Check your college issued email account in eWolf, this is where you will communicate with your instructors
  • Check your syllabus for course materials and expectations.

Note: If your course is on the high school campus, FRCC will register you. If your course is on the FRCC campus or online, you are responsible for registering for classes. If you are taking a course after school or during the summer at a BVSD campus (District Select), you are responsible for registering for classes and you will be emailed a unique CRN to complete registration.

Buy your Books

If you are taking courses on an FRCC campus or online (not District Select), you may need to purchase books prior to class starting. Visit the FRCC Bookstore to find out what you need for your class. If you need financial assistance, please email CareerandCollege@bvsd.org.

Need to DroporWithdraw From a Class?Drop:Allowed within the first week to 10 days of a course (check the syllabus for dates). If you decide a class is not right for you and you drop the class before the deadline, the class will not appear on your collegetranscript.

Withdrawal:After the Drop Deadline but before the Withdrawal Deadline, you may withdraw from the class. A "W"will appear on your transcript and it will not be figured into your GPA. End of Semester Tasks1. Create a file on your computer and store the syllabus of every college class you complete. When transferring credits to another college, you may be asked to provide the syllabus for courses taken.

2.Track your progress toward an AA or AS General degree through FRCC.AA (Associate of Arts) and AS (Associate of Science) degrees are 2-year degrees (60 credits) that include courses that are generally required for many 4 year degrees. With an AA or AS degree you can transfer to a 4 year university with your first 2 years complete. To complete an AA or AS through FRCC there are specific courses that must be completed plus a variety of elective course options. At least 15 credits must be taken at FRCC (online courses count). If you know what major you will study at the university, consider aligning your coursework with an AA or AS Degree with Designation. See the Program list in the FRCC catalog for more information.

You may download these forms to track your progress toward an AA or AS General Degree:

Student Privacy (FERPA)When a student turns 18 or enters FRCC at any age, all rights afforded to parents under FERPA transfer to the student. For more information, visit the FRCC FERPA site.

Finally

  • If your class meets in person, know where you are going and how long it will take to get there.
  • Login to D2L/MyCourse on the first day of the semester, regardless when your class starts
  • Remember tocheck your FRCC email frequently (found in eWolf)
  • The course syllabus that the teacher provides lists all of the reading and course assignments. Check the syllabus daily to stay on top of what needs to be done. Also, when the class is finished, save the syllabus in an electronic file - you may need it when transferring the credit to a university!
